About the TC7.2
Updates & Improvements
The TC7.2 boasts a range of updates and improvements that refine its predecessor, the TC7.1, for enhanced performance. Notable upgrades include the one-piece IFM (Inline Flex Mount) motor mount system, which positions the motor centrally and offers several mounting configurations for fine-tuning chassis flex to suit the track surface. This allows for precise adjustments to balance, providing better control over the car’s performance. A standout addition is the optional Pitch Control System (PCS) mounting, which provides an additional layer of customization for chassis flex characteristics, allowing racers to adapt quickly to track conditions. The chassis itself has been refined with updated bearing caps and a floating servo mount, further enhancing adjustability and ensuring precise link length adjustments. The updated battery mounting system offers greater adjustability for fine-tuning mass balance, ensuring the TC7.2 stays responsive and predictable even in the most demanding racing environments.
Chassis & Suspension
The heart of the TC7.2 is its high-performance chassis and suspension design, which has been meticulously engineered to provide unparalleled handling. The chassis is made from a 2.25mm graphite laminate with symmetric pockets that optimize flex characteristics, resulting in a balanced and responsive driving experience. The narrow 84mm chassis width minimizes chassis dragging at maximum roll angles, enhancing cornering stability without sacrificing agility. The suspension incorporates ultra-lightweight carbon composite components, providing an ideal balance of strength and minimal mass. This design ensures maximum flex throughout the entire chassis length, improving grip and performance on all track conditions. The camber link mount integrated into the bearing caps allows for ultra-fine link length adjustments, further enhancing tuning capabilities for precise suspension tuning. The combination of these features ensures that the TC7.2 can tackle any race surface with confidence, offering superior traction and stability.
Drivetrain
The drivetrain of the RC10 TC7.2 is engineered for durability and performance, ensuring smooth power transfer with minimal friction. The rear gear differential is made from aluminum, offering precise gear alignment and increased heat dissipation, making it perfect for extended high-performance use. The durable composite gear set is lightweight, reducing overall mass while providing reliable operation. The rear aluminum CV bones and lightweight front spool are designed for high durability, reducing wear and tear while maintaining efficient power delivery. Additionally, the TC7.2 includes the innovative DCV (Dual Constant Velocity) drive shaft assemblies for the front, which utilize double-cardon joints to allow free rotation at extreme angles, typical of a front-drive system. This eliminates the "chatter" seen in standard CV axles, ensuring smooth steering and stable handling throughout tight corners. The drivetrain is also supported by 26 precision ball bearings, minimizing friction and ensuring long-lasting performance under race conditions.
